FISH TAX COLLECTIONS.
WHEREAS, the collection of raw fish tax IS a -•;tical

WHEREAS, the ,nun!cipa!itiec have been unable to ottalr ary data

WHEREAS, the municipalities would provide considerable :r,er-atz
and assistance to the Department of Revenue it ;;van the oppor!un!tu, a. -,d
WHEREAS, the munioipa!ities have been eff+c!ivaly managing
Confidential information far many years; and
WHEREAS, the municipalities concur •w'th the sensitivity of the
processor inf omation and agree to treat the inf 0rmatian as confidential
information; and

WHEREAS , the Department of Fish anE Came fish tickets for Dottomfish
have not been processed 'or several months which means no catch verification or
fish tax ver I f!cati on is taking place at this time; and
WHEREAS, this information is critics: for both management of Ita,� ', I
resource and accurate management of the fish L.: ca'lections.
NOW, THEREFORE, 9E IT RESOLVED by r^= Kodiak island Dcr oe gh Assembly
that Governor Cowper and the A":ka Legislature dopt legislation to;
I
1. Authorize the Department of Revenue to share the ccnfidel
Information of fish tax collected per processor to Se treated as
Confidential information exempt from public disclosure by rhe 'aCa'
municipalities.
2. Require the Department of Revenue to w,rk :>>perat. ve!y with
local munic,pali!ies in verification all co!'C;tion c —v:4
including the option for a local munlcipa'it; to r.s;_tee -
collection duties 'w,,hin their mull:;pa' b,..._. ,.
