DIRECTING STAFF OTO INSTITUTE AKCOLLECTIOON FEE ONUCOLLECTGH TIONS FOR LY HOTHERS.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has collected
property taxes and
remitted the full amount of such collections to the City of Kodiak and other
entities for the past six years; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska collects motor vehicle tax and remits
the amount collected less five (5) per cent for a collection fee; and

WHEREAS, the City of Kodiak has agreed to collect the garbage fee
�idue the Borough on their utility billings and will remit such collections less
'Ifive (5) per cent retained for a collection fee.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that staff is hereby authorized and
I directed to retain five (5) per cent of any collection for others. Only the
1 amount collected less the collection fee shall be remitted to the entity for
which the collection was made.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that since this change will entail new and

'I additional accounting and internal controls that all monies collected will be
remitted the month following collection to the entity for whom the collection
was made.

Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
