RESOLUTION NO. 47-22-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ESTABU SHIN A
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH FISHERIES COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough economy is built upon in fishing
industry, and
WHEREAS, sound management of the fisheries for a sustai ed yield is
in the best economic interest of everyone living on Kodiak Isl it, and
WHEREAS, there are a number of agencies invol-44111 data collection,
data analysis and recommendation for resource aliocatioef r various species of
.fish but no one agency that can provide the Kodiak 91 -a -n Borough with the
'entire picture of the fish resources, and
WHEREAS, a key premise of United States Go ernment is that the best
information and decision can be made at the local eve[ by people who are
involved in the area. and ?\
WHEREAS, the fish resources around disk Island are so rich that

many interests are continually jockeying to position to obtain or coatrol
- more of the resource, and
WHEREAS. Kodiak Island people a interests are bast pursued and
protected by residents of Kodiak Isla it.
NOW, THEREFORE, BEES LVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
