A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY APPROVING
A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT -RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (CDBG-REDI) PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough and CSS/bfs-Kodiak has
identified a need in the community for a secure and safe place for homeless
people to sleep, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough contemplates submitting on
behalf of CSS/bfs-Kodiak an application for CDBG-REDI grant funds from the
Alaska Department of Community and Regional Affairs for the purpose of
meeting the need, and

other to participate in the CDBG-REDI program, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough and CSS/bfs-Kodiak
understand that the Kodiak Island Borough will act as the applicant and will
have the ultimate responsibility to assume all obligations under terms of the
grant including assuring compliance with all applicable laws and program
regulations and performance of all work in accordance with the contract.
Further, the Borough Mayor, or his designee, will be the contact person for
this project, and
WHEREAS, it is understood that the Kodiak Island Borough and
DCRA will have access to all participants' grant records and authority to
monitor all activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to Alaska Statues,
the Kodiak Island Borough and CSS/bfs-Kodiak agree to cooperate in the
submission an
cooperate in f implementation off the Bsubmitted rCDBGUREDI ant fnds,aprrogram, as
approved by the Department of Community and Regional Affairs.
Nothing contained in this agreementshall deprive the Kodiak Island
Borough of any power or zoning, development control, or other lawful
authority which it presently possesses.
