RESOLUTION NO. 88-60-R A RESOLUTION URGING CAREFUL CONSIDERATION OF THE CONCEPT OF A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT QUOTA ALLOCATION IN ALASKA'S BOTTOMFISHERY. WHEREAS, limited entry proposals may preclude the participation of Southwest Alaska's fishermen in the emerging bottomfishery; and WHEREAS, Southwest Alaska communities have the right to benefit from the development of these fisheries; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly supports the concept of granting a Community Development Quota Allocation to Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska communities for the purpose of ensuring community participation in the development of the Alaskan bottomfishery.
