RESOLUTION NO. 88-50-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
SUPPORTING THE CITY OF KODIAK DRUG ENFORCEMENT POLICY
WHEREAS, it is evident that drug trafficking in Kodiak has
!;increased; and
iWHEREAS, many accidental injuries and deaths and almost all
,'.crime occurring in the Kodiak Island Borough is drug related; and
i
WHEREAS, the United States and the state of Alaska spend
'millions of dollars every year to treat drug abuse patients; and
WHEREAS, this is a matter of concern for the general health,
welfare and public safety of the citizens of Kodiak; and
WHEREAS, all citizens should be concerned and should not
Iallow illegal drugs to decrease the quality of life in Kodiak;
I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly strongly supports the drug enforcement policy of the
I�Kodiak City Council and the enforcement efforts of the city of Kodiak
l',through its Police Department.
