A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY TO PURCHASE TRACT
R -IA KILLARNEY HILLS SUBDIVISION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW
HOSPITAL.
:i WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has been
seeking to
construct a new hospital for the Kodiak Island Borough, and
I
WHEREAS, the Certificate of Need for construction of A new hospital
;was recommended for approval by the Health Systems Agency in May, 1986, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Mayor was authorized to negotiate

"purchase of ■ hospital site by Resolution Number 85-82-11, and
I
WHEREAS, Tract R -IA Killarney Hills Subdivision wag one of three
Parcels identified AS good locations for the new hospital. and
WHEREAS, the other two
parcels are not Available, and i

WHEREAS, the Archdiocese of Anchorage has agreed to sell the land to
li
,the Kodiak Island Borough and convey the land by warranty deed free and clear
,of all liens and encumbrances except easements and restrictions of record, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has indicated a conmittment to finance
A substantial portion of the cost of construction of a new hospital.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
.;that the Mayor is directed to purchase Tract R -IA Killarney Hills Subdivision
I
for the purpose of construction of A new hospital for an amount not to exceed
$496,000 with fund$ to be used from the Land Sales Fund for this purchase, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the staff is directed to complete all
necessary documentation and transactions to Complete this land acquisiton.
