RESOLUTION NO. 86-42-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING STAFF TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BALER FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the design of the Baler Facility is complete d construc-
tion documents have been properly prepared by Arctic Engineers Inc. of
Anchorage, and
WHEREAS, the City of Kodiak has adopted the 1982 tudy prepared by
!� Arctic Engineers, Inc. as the "Official Sanitary Landfil plan for Kodiak" by
Resolution 1112-83, and
SII WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has adopted the 1982
�Istudy prepared by Arctic Engineers, Inc. as the "Of ficial Sanitary Landfill
plan for Kodiak" by Resolution 083-143-R, and /
II WHEREAS, the 1982 study prepared by Arctic Engineers, Inc. idanti-
Ili fied Baling as the most cost effective solutipn for solid waste processing,

�I WHEREAS, the 1982 study prep- by Arctic Engineers recommended
that "the existing City of Kodiak landf_ll should be updated and converted to
a bale fill", and
WHEREAS, the Baler Facilit4 construction is required to implement
the "Official Sanitary LV
for Kodiak".
NOW, THEREFORLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assem-
bly that staff is authortise for bids for construction of the
Baler Facility. PASSED AND AP_ day of 1986.
