1986-31 Acquiring Industrial Land at Womens Bay for the Specific Purpose of Encouraging Development of the Kodiak International Shipworks.NOOIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION N0. 69-31-R A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ACOUIRING INDUS- TRIAL LAND AT WOMENS BAY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF ENCOURAGING DEVELOPMENT OF THE KODIAK INTERNATIONAL SHIPWORKS. i WHEREAS, Kodiak International Shipworks has designed a boat repair 'I facility With office warehouse building to be located at an existing dock .facility in WOMSns Bay, and WHEREAS. Kodiak International Shipworks holds transferable purchase options for Approximately 44.36 &ergs of land contingent to the dock, and WHEREAS, the 44.36 acres are currently owaed by Konia9, Inc. (a pOr o:- IlNately 42.66 acres) and Lash Corporation (approximately 1.6 acres). and I WHEREAS, the North Pacific DeeelopMent Company has requested that the Kodiak Island Borough purchase the above described land and make it available Eby lease to the North Pacific Development Company for construction of the Kodiak International ShiprorKs ship lift and repair facility mail support ,Services building, and WHEREAS, a 56.3 million financing for the building and ship lift and repair facility including complete refurbishment of the dock facility are contingent upon the land purchase and lease by the Kodiak Island Borough.
