A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK BOROUGH ASSEMBLY URGING FUNDING FOR THE
i FORT ABERCROMBIE STATE HISTORICAL PARK.

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Division of Parks has been developing
the Fort Abercrombie State Historical Park for several years, and
WHEREAS, the Division has developed plans to Continue the refurbish -
Meet of the historic Miller Point Bunker at Fort Abercrombie as a museum, and
i
WHEREAS, such a museum would be a positive addition for the tourism
industry developing in Kodiak, and
WHEREAS, the estimated Cost of the refurbishmant is $100,000, and
it WHEREAS, the project has been reviewed by the Division of Parks and
I$ Included on the final priority list and ills Governor's budget for funding.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
,..Assembly that the Alaska State Legislature and Governor Sheffield are urged to
',fully fund this project.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to

(Governor Bill Sheffield, Senator Fred F. Zharoff, Representative David W.
Thompson, Senators Jan Falk$ and John C. Sackett, Co -Chairmen of the Senate
,(Finance Committee, and Representative Albert P. Adams, Chairman of the House
Finance Committee.
