RESOLUTION NO. 85-90-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY APPROVING A PORTION
JF LOT 1, U.S. SURVEY 3468 (SMOKEY'S DUMP) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SOLID WASTE
BALING FACILITY.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has determined Baling to be the
best solution for solid waste disposal on Kodiak Island, and
WHEREAS, Baling equipment has been purchased and delivered to Kodiak
for use in the Baling Facility, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough staff and consultants have deter-
mined that the most cost effective location of the Baling Facility as near the
epicenter of the population, and
WHEREAS, the proposed Baling Facility Site has been recommended as
;meeting the design criteria, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to implement
construction of the Baling Facility in a timely manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
o approve utilizing a portion of Lot 1, U.S. Survey 3468 (Smokey's Dump) for
he construction of a Solid Waste Baling Facility.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of Ottoher , 1985 by the Kodiak
Xsland Borough Assembly.
