KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NO. 85-79-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY DISPOSING OF
CERTAIN BOROUGH LANDS TO THE KODIAK ISLAND HOUSING AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough owns Block 3 of the Lakeside
Subdivision, First Addition, and intends to dispose of these Lands, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Housing Authority, a public corporation
which is an instrument of the State government, has offered a development

contribution of $598,200 in exchange for this parcel, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission
'!was requested to review the disposal of this land at their August 21, 1985
imeeting and found no reason to prevent declaring this parcel surplus to
Borough needs, and
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Code Section 18.20.100 makes provi-
',sions for disposal to political subdivisions of the State of Alaska or non-
profit corporations for less than fair market vaiue, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Ccce Section 18.20.110 makes
provision to dispose of land by direct negotiation with such organization,
and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough assessor appraised the land on
July 25, 1985 at a value of $508,750 as required by Kodiak Island Borough
,Code Section 18.20.130, and
WHEREAS, the development contribution exceeds the fair market value
)y an amount that more than offsets the potential tax revenue loss due to the
)ayment in lieu of taxes agreement, and
WHEREAS, the public interest is well served by the disposal of this
Darcel in this manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough
assembly agrees to exchange Block 3, Lakeside Subdivision, First Addition, for
1 $598,200 development contribution from the Kodiak Island Housing Authority.
