RESOLUTION NO. 85-74-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY RECOGNIZING AND
SUPPORTING "APPRECIATION DAY" FOR EFFORTS TOWARD BETTER LIVING IN THE KODIAK
ISLAND COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS, the people of Kodiak, on their own initiative, have
established numerous.voluntary non-profit and service organizations to achieve
i!worthy goals, and
WHEREAS, these organizations have successfully fulfilled their
',stated purposes for the benefit of the Kodiak community, and

WHEREAS, these services have immeasurably enhanced the quality of
';:life for many Kodiak citizens, and
WHEREAS, the success of these efforts is directly attributable to
'!the voluntary contribution of time, talent and financial resources by Kodiak
residents, and
WHEREAS, a substantial proportion of this charitable support has been

:and continues to be provided by the conscientious people of the Kodiak business
I
Viand professional community, and
WHEREAS, the degree to which the business, professional and community
'efforts to improve the quality of life for all Kodiak residents is often
insufficiently recognized by their beneficiaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
.!joins with the participating organizations of "Appreciation Day" September 7,
111985, to say "THANK YOU" to the business, professional and community -minded
1lpeople of this area for their efforts toward making Kodiak Island a better
;,place to live for all of us.
