RESOLUTION NO. 85-43-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY APPROVING A
ERATION AGREEMENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECURING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR
INCOME HOUSING PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF AKHIOK.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this locality to eliminate substandard
other inadequate housing, to prevent the spread of slums and blight, and to
lize as soon as feasible the goal of a decent home in a suitable living
vironment for all of its citizens, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the United States Housing Act of
937, as amended, the United States of America, acting through the Secretary of
sing and Urban Development, is authorized to provide financial assistance to
ocal public housing agencies for undertaking and carrying out low-income housir
ects that will assist in meeting this goal, and
WHEREAS, the City of Akhiok has requested assistance from the Kodiak
sland Housing Authority and application has been prepared, and
WHEREAS, planning, platting, zoning, building code enforcement and
ion among others is within the jurisdictional powers of the Kodiak Island
h, and
WHEREAS, these ,jurisdictional powers may have an immediate or future
upon the success of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
authorize the Borough Manager to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the
ity of Akhiok and the Kodiak Island Housing Authority for the purposes of
curing financial assistance for a low-income housing project.
