RESOLUTION NO. 85-42-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY APPROVING A
OOPERATION AGREEMENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF SECURING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR
OW -INCOME HOUSING PROJECTS IN THE CITY OF OUZINKIE.
WHEREAS, it is the policy of this locality to eliminate substandard
d other inadequate housing, to prevent the spread of slums and blight, and to
realize as soon as feasible the goal of a decent home in a suitable living
vironment for all of its citizens, and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the United States Housing Act of
1937, as amended, the United States of America, acting through the Secretary of
Housing and Urban Development, is authorized to provide financial assistance to
local public housing agencies for undertakinq and carrying out low-income housi
projects that will assist in meeting this goal, and
WHEREAS, the City of Ouzinkie has requested assistance from the Kodia
jIsland Housinq Authority and application has been prepared, and
WHEREAS, planning, platting, zoning, building code enforcement and
taxation among others is within the jurisdictional powers of the Kodiak Island
lBorough, and
WHEREAS, these jurisdictional powers may have an immediate or future
impact upon the success of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borouqh Assembly
authorize the Borough Manager to enter into a Cooperation Agreement with the
(City of Ouzinkie and the Kodiak Island Housing Authority for the purposes of
securing financial assistance for a low-income housing project.
