1985-28 Supporting the Construction of the Fishery Industrial Technology Center in Kodiak on the Trident Basin Near Island Site.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 85-28-R A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING THE STRUCTION OF THE FISHERY INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER IN KODIAK ON THE TRI IN NEAR ISLAND SITE. WHEREAS, the University of Alaska is seeking the construction and ion of a Fishery Industrial Technology Center, and WHEREAS, Kodiak is the ideal location for such a center because of i and proximity to Western Alaska and the Bering Sea, the richest fish o -mass in the work, and WHEREAS, Kodiak is consistently one of the ports producing the unt of seafood in the United States each year thus providing a large seafood cessing industry which would be available for assisting in the development nnovative technology, and WHEREAS, the City of Kodiak has made land available to the University Alaska at an excellent site on the Trident Basin side of Near Island within City limits, and WHEREAS, the residents of the Kodiak Island Borough strongly support the location of the Fishery Industrial Technology Center at the Trident Basin site as selected by the University of Alaska and the Fishery Industrial Technology Center officials. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that the University of Alaska is urged to place the Fishery Industrial Technol Center at the Trident Basin site on Near Island as soon as possible. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska Legislature allocate sufficien funds for construction of Phase I of the Fishery Industrial Technology Center during the 1985 session. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to the following individuals: The Honorable Bill Sheffield, Governor of Alaska The Honorable Fred F. Zharoff, State Senate The Honorable David W. Thompson, House of Representatives Dr. Donald D.
