RESOLUTION NO. 85-23-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AUTHORIZING LEASI
OFFICE SPACE IN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH BUILDING.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the owner of Lots 5 and 7 of
S. Survey 2538A and all improvements thereon, and
WHEREAS, the main building, a former dormitory, has been converted to
office building of which approximately 77 percent is used for office space
d the remaining space is common area, and
WHEREAS, the property deed contains a restrictive clause limiting the
to school and other purposes only, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to manage the
property as a self-sustaining enterprise and to meet this goal it is advantageou
Ito provide full occupancy by renting the available space to qualified occupants,
giving first priority to school and borough use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Borough Manager is authorized to negotiate leases with the following
governmental and qualifying non-profit corporations at a cost of $1.00 per
square foot:
Space #1 Kodiak Island Borough District - 6,491 square feet
Space #2 Kodiak Island Borough - 8594 square feet
Space #3 City of Kodiak - 3,895 square feet
Space #4 KMXT Radio Station - 1,413 square feet
Space #5 Kodiak Island Borough - 573 square feet
Space #6 Legislative Affairs - 942 square feet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms and conditions of lease shall
hose provided in the written document as prepared and entitled Lease Agreement.
