RESOLUTION NO. 85-22-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUPPORTING SENATE
ILL 142 AND HOUSE BILL 78 WHICH REVISE AND REORGANIZE ALASKA STATUTES TITLE 29.
WHEREAS, Alaska Statutes Title 29 is that portion of State Law which
overns municipal government within the State of Alaska, and
WHEREAS, Title 29 has been in need of revision and reorganization for
ny years, and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 142 and House Bill 78 were filed during the Firs
ssion of the 14th Legislature, and
WHEREAS, the bills do not contain any of the provisions which were
iticized by Governor Hammond in his July 15, 1982 veto of similar bills, and
WHEREAS, the bills make many non -controversial improvements that are
ong overdue and necessary for the smooth working of municipal government in
r state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Alaska State Legislature is urged to pass Senate Bill 142 and/or House
Bill 78 during the First Session of the Fourteenth Legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature refrain from making
1controversial amendments to these bills.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to:
