RESOLUTION NO. 85-3-R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY COMMENDING LINDA
HARDY FOR ARTISTIC CONTRIBUTION TO KODIAK ISLAND.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is a government of the people
living on Kodiak Island and is entirely dependent upon involvement of those
people to assure good government, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly wants to encourage and
recognize citizen involvement in local community improvement activities whether
those activities are sponsored by government or private effort, and
WHEREAS, the recent efforts to design a flag to be flown over Kodiak
to honor those who have lost their lives in land, sea or air disasters was a
privately sponsored activity which has meaning for everyone living on Kodiak
Island, and
WHEREAS, Linda Hardy was willing to be involved in the community by
naking an effort and submitting two flag designs because she wanted to be
"donating something back to the community," and
WHEREAS, her flag design with the inscription
"In Memory of Those We Love"
chosen by the selection committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembl1
Linda Hardy for her citizenship and artistic contribution to the Kodiak
land Community.
