ORDINANCE NO. 88-32-0
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE SUSPENDING THE ISSUANCE
OF CERTAIN BUILDING PERMITS WITHIN BUSINESS DISTRICTS
NOT SERVED BY PUBLIC SEWER AND WATER SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, residents have recently expressed concern about the
impact of recent developments in the areas of groundwater quality; and
WHEREAS, certain permitted land uses in business districts could
seriously impact the groundwater quality;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that:
Section 1, An emergency exists which affects the welfare of the
residents of the Kodiak Island Borough.
Section 2. No building permits will be issued for business zoned
lots for new construction of multi -family dwellings or other uses where
wastewater disposal exceeds 600 gallons per day per 40,000 sq. ft.
Section 3. This ordinance shall remain in effect for 60 days.
