Health Facilities Advisory Board
May 26, 2026, at 1:30pm
Held in the Providence Barometer Conference Room.
ROLL CALL
Meeting was called to order at 1:30pm. Members present were Scott Smiley, Caroline
Roberts, and Codi Allen. Aimee Williams and Dave Johnson was excused absent. Others
present were Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center Representatives Tyler Steele and
Ashley Mazer, and Kodiak Community Health Center Olivera Wilson.

AGENDA ITEMS
a. Kodiak Community Health Clinic Expansion Project Update
Olivera Wilson provided an update regarding the expansion project. The team has
had meetings with their architects and stakeholders, they have paused work or any
decision making until they receive a response from the Borough regarding the Notice
of Federal Interest (NFI).
Tyler from Providence also mentioned that the Roof Top Unit (RTU) is also paused
for discussions regarding who is financially responsible for the project.
b. Providence Updates
Tyler reviewed that there is a design proposal for the RTU and the AHU1 on the
Assembly agenda for May 28. There was a discussion regarding the cost increases
to the design even though the Borough is not taking the design over. There was a
proposed re -design of the 65% to lower the CFM. The Borough is not in support of
the reduction in CFM for a higher cost. PKIMC will review the proposal and verify the
costs to be presented at the Assembly.
C. Borough Updates
Codi Allen reported on the following projects:
- Elevator Modernizations: Elevator #2 had a control board malfunction, was
repaired within 48 hours. There is currently a mechanical failure occurring that
was outside the scope of the project and is considered a maintenance item.
(seals for the lifts).
- ATS & RO and Steam designs will be developed to 65% and brought to the
Architectural Review Board (ARB).
- Wall Fence Gate: PKIMC legal team provided a response.
- AHU1 and NFI are on the May 28 Assembly work session for discussion.
- Codi is also working on a Sourcewell presentation to the Assembly to attempt
to make procurement easier.
