Section 3: By this ordinance, pursuant to KIBC 17.205.075, the Borough Assembly changes the future land use map designation for the subject property from Public Use to Mixed Use/Commercial on the comprehensive plan future land use map of the Kodiak Island Borough and shall become effective upon the effective date of this ordinance. Section 4: By this ordinance, the Borough Assembly adopts the following findings in support of its approval of this rezone. 1. The proposed use of the structure on the subject parcel is for public use such as a wellness center and community center. These land uses require the rezone to Public Use Land (PL) District. 2. The future land use map designation for the subject property should be changed from industrial to public use because the subject property was subdivided from the old airport property and the existing structure and proposed uses are in line with the public use designation and the public use designation of this property is compatible with other public use designated properties across F Street. 3. The proposed rezone is in conformance with the 2008 Comprehensive Plan because it meets policies within the local government chapter of the plan for the City of Ouzinkie to promote public health and wellness initiatives. Effective Date: This ordinance takes effect upon adoption.
