RESOLUTION NO. FY2026-14
A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING
THE MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE 2026 VOLUNTEER FIRE CAPACITY (VFC) GRANT FOR
THE WOMENS BAY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the USDA Forest Service through the State of Alaska, Department of Natural
Resources, Division of Forestry and Fire Protection made grant funds available to volunteer fire
departments; and
WHEREAS, the Womens Bay Volunteer Fire Department meets the following criteria:
• Serve a population of 10,000 or less
• Be registered with the Alaska Division of Fire & Life Safety
• Be NIMS (National Incident Management System) compliant
• Be in compliance with past VFC awards
• Provide documentation of a minimum availability of 10% matching funds
WHEREAS, an application for the grant was submitted and an award in the amount of
$4,849.21 was made to the Womens Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that the manager is authorized to execute the grant award documents for the
Volunteer Fire Capacity grant for Womens Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
