Varlous conplalnts rrere made that there are lnequltltles ln the assessroents. It
was brought out that lt ls posslble for errors to be made, and that posslble errorg
should be checked out by talklng to the Assesgor. If an agreemeat canaot be
reached, an appeal should be made to the Board of AdJustmeut. If an agreement
still le not reached, an appeal nay be made to the Superlor Court.
In surmrarlzlng, Chalrrnan tlhlte stated that the Assembly reallzes thac there ls
a 1ot of dlssatlsfactlon concernlng the assesanents, and that aome actlon oust be
taken to resolve Lt. He suggested that a board be ereated to act ln an advlsory
capaclty both to the publlc and the tax assesBor, whlch would asslst htn ln
naklng the assessoents. This board should represent a cross-aectlon of the
property orrners.
Ile emphaslzed that everyone who cannot come to an agreement wlth the Assessor
should apply for a Board of Equallzatlon hearlng. Accordlng to the Iaw, a vlslt
Eust flrst be pald to the Assessor. If agreemeDt cannot be reached, then the
BOE forms shoul.d be fllled out. But the dlscusslon must be held lrlth the
Assessor, not with the Chalruan or the Assembly nembers. Those people who cannot
eee the Assessor durlng worklng hours nay call hln at the Borough Offlce.
A conment was made that re-appralsals ehould be done. llrs. HaJdu replled that the
overall values would remaln the same. If there are lnconslstenciee, they should
be reported so that they nay be adJusted.

Bortons stated that they wlshed to be removed from the petltlon ln favor of
