FY2019-18 MOA KIB and City of Larsen BayAC Contract No. FY2019-18 MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT Between KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AND CITY OF LARSEN BAY THIS MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT is made and entered into by and between the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, hereinafter "KIB" and the CITY OF LARSEN BAY, hereinafter "CITY", and shall be effective December 1, 2018, as specified herein. WHEREAS, the KIB as owner of the Larsen Bay School, hereinafter "SCHOOL", wishes to contract with the City to provide custodial services at the SCHOOL. WHEREAS, the CITY is will to provide said services to the KIB. NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto covenant and agree as follows: SCOPE OF SERVICES A. The services may include but are not limited to the following: 1. Those custodial duties as outlined in Exhibit "A" Custodial Duties, not to exceed 15 hours per week. 2. All personnel aspects are the responsibility of the City, and the custodian shall be an employee of the City. REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES The KIB, upon receipt of monthly invoices submitted by the City, shall reimburse the hourly wages paid to the custodian of $20.00 per hour. The KIB upon receipt of monthly invoices submitted by the City, shall reimburse the cost of fuel oil and any electricity usage associated with the operation of the fuel oil boiler and electric boiler respectively in the SCHOOL. All other expenses related to the operation of the SCHOOL, shall be paid by the City. CONTRACT TERM This agreement is effective from the date of execution through October 31, 2019 and the parties may review and renegotiate terms and costs annually. CITY OF LARSEN BAY P/V\ Bill Nelson, City Mayor ATTEST: Exhibit A Custodial Duties Daily: ➢ Sweep gym floor/spot clean any spills etc. ➢ Remove all garbage 9 Sweep all vinyl floors ➢ Clean whiteboards ➢ Vacuum carpets ➢ Mop food prep area ➢ Wipe down kitchen ➢ Mop bathrooms & wipe down ➢ Mop lunchroom ➢ Check and fill all paper towel and toilet paper ➢ Take all garbage to the dump ➢ Clean school grounds 2 times a week: Mop all vinyl floors Deep clean/sanitize bathrooms or more if needed D Clean bleachers/spot clean walls 1 time a week: ➢ Clean windows inside and out ➢ Wipe desks and furniture or more if needed ➢ Dust window blinds and sills ➢ Buff vinyl floors 1 time a month: ➢ clean window blinds with damp cloth 2 times a year: ➢ deep clean rubber gym floor **If you are unsure how to keep the rubber gym floor clean, please contact Glen. The rubber has very precise cleaning procedures. 1 time a year: ➢ shampoo rugs- spot clean if needed D strip and re -wax vinyl floors AS needed: ➢ Clean kitchen stoves as needed Day Man Duties ➢ Inspect building structure and determine needs for repair for the main building and gym ➢ Manage the up keep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards ➢ Replace broken items ➢ Pick up freight as needed from airport/PO ➢ Put freight away/organize ➢ Pick up personnel as needed from airport ➢ Maintain the furnace room ➢ Replacing light bulbs and fixtures ➢ Standard plumbing Note: I try to do all the daily cleaning I can with the time I have. Then, I make a schedule for myself, to do the other cleaning that has to be done 1 time per week: Windows- Monday Desk cleaning—Tuesday Buff vinyl floors- Wednesday and so on........ Some classrooms will take longer than others. You will get faster and better with time. You much manage your time to do what you need to clean first, a schedule helps with prioritizing. If something can wait until the next day, which sometimes happens. I use in-service days to do the gym floor, shampoo carpets, or use these days for anything that you may need to catch up with.
