August 23, 2011 Regular Meeting 7 p.m. in the KIB School District Conference Room
CALL TO ORDER
COMMITTEE MEMBER FOREMAN called to order the August 23, 2011 Parks & Recreation
Regular Meeting at 7:05 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Requested to be excused were Mike Sirofchuck, Patrick Saltonstall, Rick Lindholm, and
Sandra West.
Committee members present were Pam Foreman, Hans Tschersich, Jeff Huntley, Andy
Schroeder, and Willy Bethea. Excused were Mike Sirofchuck, Patrick Saltonstall, Rick
Lindholm, and Sandra West.
A quorum was established.
Community Development Department staff present was Bud Cassidy & Martha Barnett
(E &F Dept. filling in for Sheila Smith).
COMMITTEE MEMBER SCHROEDER MOVED to excuse Mike Sirofchuck, Patrick Saltonstall,
Rick Lindholm, and Sandra West.
VOICE VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
COMMITTEE MEMBER TSCHERSICH said Sirofchuck is not here so his item should be taken
off the agenda.
COMMITTEE MEMBER BETHEA MOVED to approve the agenda as amended.
VOICE VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
COMMITTEE MEMBER HUNTLEY MOVED to approve the August 9, 2011 minutes.
VOICE VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
AUDIENCE COMMENTS AND APPEARANCE REQUESTS
There were none.
OLD BUSINESS
A) Trails Plan - September 13th Public Meeting- Change of Date
Cassidy said he will be out of town on September 13th and there is a conflict with the PAC
meeting being on the same day. This meeting is for you to review the comments. It will be
advertised on the radio and the newspaper.
Discussion regarding advertising, meeting dates, and quorum. There was consensus to
advertise on KVOK and in the newspaper and to keep the meeting on September 13th.
COMMITTEE MEMBER HUNTLEY & COMMITTEE MEMBER TSCHERSICH stated they will
not be at the September 13th meeting.

B) Kodiak State Airport EIS /Delay of Process
Cassidy stated he received this email and wanted to pass it to the committee because of
your concern.
NEW BUSINESS
There was none.
COMMUNICATIONS
There was none.
REPORTS
The next Parks & Recreation Committee meetings will be held on September 13, 2011 at 7
p.m. in the KIB conference room and September 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the KIB School
District Conference Room

There were none.
COMMITTEE MEMBER'S COMMENTS
Andy Schroeder apologized for the unexcused absence.
Pam Foreman stated she hopes Willy Bethea doesn't find that he can't be on the committee
anymore.
Willy Bethea said it is all about school.
Hans Tschersich requested to be excused for through October and possibly September.
ADJOURNMENT
COMMITTEE MEMBER HUNTLEY MOVED to adjourn.
COMMITTEE MEMBER FOREMAN adjourned the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
