FY2009 -35 8 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH 10 AUTHORIZING THE BOROUGH MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE 11 FUNDS FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND 12 CONSERVATION BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM 13 14 WHEREAS, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111 -5, 15 appropriates funding for the Department of Energy (DOE) to issue /award formula -based grants 16 to states, U.S. territories, units of local government, and Indian tribes under the Energy Efficiency 17 and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program; and 18 19 WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is eligible to receive a direct formula grant in the amount 20 of $50,000 under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program; and 21 22 WHEREAS, the City of Kodiak is also eligible to receive a direct formula grant in the amount of 23 $50,000 under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program and will pool grant 24 funds with the Kodiak Island Borough; and 25 26 WHEREAS, Borough staff have identified projects to be performed with the use of the Energy 27 Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds.
