2003-18 Anton Larsen Bay Public Access ProjectWHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has received a $400,000 grant to perform an environmental assessment and construct additional parking and a new boat ramp in Anton Larsen Bay; and WHEREAS, this money is managed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and is derived from the tax on the sale of sporting goods; and WHEREAS, this money is granted to communities to increase access and sport fishing opportunities; and WHEREAS, the bid to perform the scope of work to construct the additional parking and boat ramp exceeded the funds allocated for the project; and WHEREAS, the Department of Fish and Game has agreed to increase the limit of the grant by granting an additional $160,000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that the Borough accepts an additional $160,000 from the Department of Fish and Game to be used in the construction of the Anton Larsen Bay Public Access Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that the Borough manager is directed to sign all necessary paperwork to accept the additional funds.
