A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
APPROVING THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF

SUBMISSION BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
TO THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School District Board of Education approved
the Facilities Review Committee's recommended General Obligation project priority list
at their December 16, 2002 regular meeting; and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Department of Education requires that the School
District submit applications for state participation in school related General Obligation
bond debt; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly intends to submit to the voters as
quickly as possible a General Obligation bond ballot for school projects; and
WHEREAS, the election process for General Obligation bond debt requires
approximately 75 days;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
that the Borough Assembly approves the hereto attached list, and respectfully requests
that the School District expedite the submission of the applications to the Department
of Education for the projects, to ensure approval while the state General Obligation
bond participation option is still available.
