2002-17 KIBSD Budget FundsKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 2002 -17 Requested by: Drafted by: Introduced: Public Hearing: Adopted: Kodiak Island Borough Board of Education Finance Director 05/16/2002 05/16/2002 05/16/2002 A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH 0 i 0: r A t AV 1 . ; FROM LOCAL SOURCES FOR THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2002 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2003 WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances 3.08.030B provides that the Kodiak Island Borough Board of Education shall submit the proposed budget and local support requirements for the schools by the thirtieth of April; and WHEREAS, within thirty days after receipt of the school district budget, the assembly shall determine the amount of funds to be made available from local sources for school purposes and shall furnish the Board of Education with a statement of the sum to be made available; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education has submitted a proposed budget of $26,268,623 that includes $7,354,198 (including an additional Kodiak Island Borough assembly appropriation of $730,670) in revenue from the Borough as a local source; and WHEREAS, major items of legislation that would affect the funds available from local sources are yet to be enacted by the federal congress and state legislature; and WHEREAS, the actual amount of funds to be appropriated from local sources for school purposes will be incorporated into Ordinance No. 2002 -10, the Borough's fiscal year 2003 appropriation and tax levy ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that the minimum amount for the Kodiak Island Borough School District education operating budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003 is set at $25,547,365 including a Kodiak Island Borough local contribution of $7,363,610 of which $6,381,440 is cash and $982,170 is in -kind services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that a determination regarding additional funding may be made available to the Kodiak Island Borough School District based upon federal and state funding available for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002.
