2001-41 Acquisition of PropertyKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 2001 -41 Introduced by: Manager Carlson Requested by: Manager Carlson Drafted by: Manager Carlson Introduced: 09/20/2001 Adopted: 09/20/2001 A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING THE BOROUGH MANAGER TO COMPLETE THE ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO NORTH STAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND ESTABLISHING TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly is desirous of obtaining property adjacent to North Star Elementary School to provide additional parking and adequate vehicle access; and WHEREAS, the Borough owns property described as Selief Estates, Block 3, Tract A that has been appraised at $90,000; and WHEREAS, property adjacent to North Star Elementary School described as Lot 2A Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition has been appraised at $44,000; and WHEREAS, property on Lilly Lake described as a Portion of USS 1396 as described in that Deed of Trust recorded on 2/25/83 at Book 60, Page 284, Kodiak Recording District has been appraised at $7,000; and WHEREAS, the owner of the property described as Lot 2A Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition and the property described as a Portion of USS1396 as described in that Deed of Trust recorded on 2/25/83 at Book 60, Page 284, Kodiak Recording District has expressed an interest in trading the two properties for the property described as Selief Estates, Block 3, Tract A; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY that Section 1: Section 2: ATTEST: The Kodak Island Borough Assembly authorizes the Manager or his designee to complete the acquisition of the property described as Lot 2A Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition for the property described as Lot 2A Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition and the property described as a Portion of USS1396 as described in that Deed of Trust recorded on 2/25/83 at Book 60, Page 284, Kodiak Recording District The Borough Manager shall secure a Deed of Trust with closing costs split equally and the balance of $39,000 to be amortized over 10 years at 10 percent interest with even payments and compound interest.
