SUPPORTING THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AS HE WORKS

TERRORISM AND TO BRING THE PERPETRATORS OF THE ATTACKS AGAINST
THE WORLD TRADE CENTER AND THE PENTAGON TO JUSTICE
WHEREAS, on September 11, 2001, the United States was suddenly and brutally attacked
by foreign terrorists, and;
WHEREAS, these terrorists hijacked and destroyed four civilian aircraft, crashing two of them
into the towers of the World Trade Center and a third into the Pentagon; and
WHEREAS, thousands of innocent Americans were killed and injured as a result of these
attacks, including the passengers and crew of the four aircraft, workers in the World Trade
Center and the Pentagon, and rescue workers and bystanders; and
WHEREAS, these cowardly acts were by far the deadliest terrorist attacks ever launched
against the United States, and, by targeting symbols of American strength and success, clearly
were intended to intimidate our nation and weaken its resolve; and
WHEREAS, these terrorist attacks have affected all Americans from all descents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY that
the Assembly supports the President of the United States as he works with his national
security team to defend against terrorism and to bring the perpetrators of the attack against
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon to justice; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
ASSEMBLY urges the American people, in mind and spirit, to continue to stand united, tall, and
proud by not participating in acts of retaliation against any Americans of any descent as that
would violate the very principles of equality and freedom upon which our nation is founded.
