A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
AUTHORIZING THE BOROUGH MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE THE ACQUISITION
OF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO NORTH STAR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
AND ESTABLISIiING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly is desirous of obtaining property
adjacent to North Star Elementary School to provide additional parking and adequate
vehicle access; and
WHEREAS, the Borough owns property described as Tract B1, Block 1, Kadiak Alaska
that has been appraised a $158,000; and
WHEREAS, property adjacent to North Star Elementary School described as Lot 1 A,
Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition has been appraised at $118,000; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property described as Lot 1A, Block 9 Miller Point 1st
Addition has expressed an interest in trading the property for the property described
as Tract B1, Block 1, Kadiak Alaska;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that
Section 1: The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly authorizes the Manager or his
designee to negotiate the acquisition of the property described as Lot 1 A,
Block 9 Miller Point 1st Addition for the property described as Tract B1,
Block 1, Kadiak Alaska.
Section 2: The Borough Manager shall secure a Deed of Trust with $4,000 cash at
closing and the balance of $36,000 to be amortized over 10 years at 10
percent interest with even payments and compound interest.
