OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD OCTOBER 3, 2000

WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough held a Regular Election on October 3, 2000,
at which time candidates for the following offices to be filled were voted on:
WHEREAS, the following question to be voted on by the registered voters in the
Kodiak Island Borough in Proposition No. 1 was:
Shall the Kodiak Island Borough incur debt and issue general obligation bonds not to
exceed Two Million Six Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($2,660,000) to finance the
planning, designing, acquiring property for, equipping and constructing of school and
related capital improvements in the Borough, including without limitation the High
School Roof Repair and Upgrades and Peterson Elementary Upgrades?
Bonds may not be issued to pay costs of a project unless the project has been
authorized for debt service reimbursement by the State of Alaska. The approximate
amount of taxes on $100,000 of assessed real and personal property value (based on
total 2000 assessed valuation) to retire 100% of the proposed debt for the projects
above is $56.82 per year, and to retire 30% of the proposed debt for the projects is
$17.04 per year.

WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board of the Kodiak Island Borough met on October 11, •000,
and tallied the votes of Questioned Ballots and Absentee Ballots together with votes c• unted

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: The Assembly finds that the Municipal Election of October 3, 2000, was v:Iidly
held and hereby ratifies and certifies the results of the election.
Section 2: In the Borough -wide election for Assembly, Greg Razo and Wayne A. Stev: ns
were elected to three -year terms each, having received the highest vote tal ies.
Section 3: On Proposition No. 1 a majority of the votes approved that the Kodiak Isla d
Borough incur debt and issue general obligation bonds not to exceed Two illion
Six Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($2,660,000) to finance the planning,

In the Borough -wide election for School Board, Norm Wooten and Roy Bro n
were elected to three -year terms each on the Board of Education, having
received the highest vote tallies.
In the Bay View Road Service Area, Reed Oswalt received eight write -in v.tes
and was elected to a three -year term. The remaining three -year term will •e
filled, drawing by lot, from the next highest vote receivers interested in ser ing
who qualify as residents of the service area.
In the Monashka Bay Road Service Area, Alayne Larsen received six write -i
votes and was elected to a three -year term. The remaining three -year ter will
be filled, drawing by lot, from the next highest vote receivers interested in
serving who qualify as residents of the service area.
In Service Area No. 1, Robert Greene and Jennifer Spencer were elected to
three -year terms each, having the highest vote tallies.
In the Womens Bay Service Area, Edward Gondek and Chris Lynch were el -cted
to three -year terms each, having received the highest vote tallies.
In Fire Protection Area No. 1, Cliff Davidson and Roy Aguirre were elected
three -year terms each, having received the highest vote tallies.
