A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
ADOPTING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR
FISCAL YEARS 2002 THROUGH 2006 AND
ESTABLISHING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS PRIORITY LIST
WHEREAS, a five -year Capital Improvement Program has been prepared by the Kodiak
Island Borough for fiscal years 2002 through 2006; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough's Planning and Zoning Commission has
recommended approval of the prioritized fiscal year 2002 capital improvement priorities
at its meeting, in accordance with Kodiak Island Borough Code 2.40.030E; and
WHEREAS, the Assembly held a public meeting on the five -year Capital Improvement
Program, including the priorities, during its meeting on September 21, 2000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: The Kodiak Island Borough's capital improvement project priorities for
fiscal years 2002 through 2006 are as follows:
1 Resurfacing Rezanof Drive from Mill Bay
Road to the Landfill and from the Coast
Guard Base Gates to Womens Bay $2,000,000
2. Kodiak School Upgrades 3,000,000
3. Kodiak Career Technology Addition 5,500,000
4. North Star Elementary School Addition 2,600,000
5. Peterson Elementary School Addition 1,500,000
6. Kodiak State Airport Terminal Feasibility
and Preliminary Engineering and Design 500,000
7. Ouzinkie School Gym Expansion 1,500,000
8. Kodiak Hospital Improvements 2,600,000
9. Anton Larson Bay Road Extension
and Boat Launch Facility (Ice -free Water) 2,500,000
10. Monashka Bay Public Boat Launch 900,000

Section 2: The Kodiak Island Borough administration is hereby instructed to
advise the governor, legislature, and appropriate agencies of the State of
Alaska of the Capital Improvement Program and priorities adopted by the
Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
