2000-21 Sales Tax ForeclosureKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 2000 -21 Introduced by: Manager Jensen Drafted by: Manager Jensen Introduced: 07/20/2000 Adopted: 07/20/2000 A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH APPROVING THE DISPOSAL AND TERMS OF SALE OF TAX FORECLOSED PARCELS TO THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE AND RELEASING ONE PARCEL FROM PUBLIC PURPOSE CLASSIFICATION WHEREAS, many owners of parcels within the boundaries of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge have lost their property through tax foreclosure; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed the list of properties and approved them for disposal; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinances No. 95 -05 and No. 95 -05A and Resolution No. 98 -24, the Assembly has made a determination that inclusion in the Refuge is a valid public purpose for the parcels and approved the sale of the tax foreclosure parcels to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service; and WHEREAS, the representatives of the City of Larsen Bay have supported selling the parcels to US Fish and Wildlife Service; and WHEREAS, all of the parcels have been appraised by the US Fish & Wildlife Service at market value approved by the Borough Assessor; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT: Section 1: The parcels listed below are approved for sale and transfer by Special Warranty Deed subject to a Conservation Easement to the State of Alaska. Section 2: The sale proceeds will be distributed pursuant to AS 29.45.480 (b). Section 3: The parcel formerly owned by R. Katelnikoff is no longer needed for a public purpose and is available for redemption by the former owner.
