1998-37 Naming Gerald C. Wilson AuditoriumA RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH NAMING THE KODIAK HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM BUILDING THE GERALD C. WILSON AUDITORIUM WHEREAS, Gerald C. Wilson, during his lifetime, made lasting and substantial contributions to the citizens of the Kodiak Island Borough through his work in promotion of the arts and humanities; and WHEREAS, through his leadership and direction, the Kodiak Arts Council became a stable and valuable entity in Kodiak; and WHEREAS, his service on the Cultural Facilities Committee led the way to the building of the Kodiak High School Auditorium, inspiring hundreds of Kodiak thespians to great performances; and WHEREAS, the Auditorium is the focal point for arts and humanities events where the education of young and old in artistic and cultural endeavors will continue to impact people well in to the future; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH that in recognition of the many years of special contributions, accomplishments, and efforts through the leadership and example set by Gerald C. Wilson to the Kodiak Island Borough community, it is right and fitting that the Kodiak High School Auditorium building be named the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium.
