1998-32 Ratifying and Certifying Election ResultsWHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough held a Regular Election on October 6, 1998,
at which time candidates for the following offices to be filled were voted on:
WHEREAS, the Canvassing Board of the Kodiak Island Borough met on October 13,
1998, and tallied the votes of Questioned Ballots and Absentee Ballots together with
votes counted on election night; and
WHEREAS, the tallies as recorded by the Canvass Board are as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: The Assembly finds that the Municipal Election of October 6, 1998, was
validly held and hereby ratifies and certifies the results of the election.
Section 2: In the Borough -wide election for Mayor, Gary Stevens was elected to a
three -year term, having received the highest vote tally.
Section 3: In the Borough -wide election for Assembly, Pat Branson and Robin
Heinrichs were elected to three -year terms each, having received the
highest vote tallies.
Section 4: In the Borough -wide election for School Board, Alice Knowles was
elected to a three -year term on the Board of Education, having received
the highest vote tally.
Section 5: On the Bay View Road Service Area board, Dawn Black was elected to
a three year term on the board, having received the highest write -in vote
tally. Joe Black, Lisa Marcato, Eric Munk, and Fred Roberts each
received 1 write -in vote, to be decided by lot. Decided by lot, Fred
Roberts was elected to serve a three year term on the board.
Section 6: In the Monashka Bay Road Service Area, Mark Withrow was elected to
a three -year term on the board, having received the highest write -in vote
tally. Roger Blacket, Dan Miller, Greg Razo, Dave Sundberg, and Darlene
Turner each received 2 write -in votes, to be decided by lot. Decided by
lot, Dave Sundberg was elected to a three year term on the board.
Section 7: In Service District No. 1, Ed Mahoney was elected to a three -year term
on the board, having received the highest vote tally. Robert Casey and
Scott Arndt each received 7 write -in votes, to be decided by lot. Decided

Section 8: In Service District No. 1, Scott Arndt was elected to a one -year term on
the board, having received the highest write -in vote tally. Alice Knowles,
Brian Mayberry, Dan Rohrer, and Eric Schneider each received 2 write -in
votes, to be decided by lot. Decided by lot, Brian Mayberry was elected
to a one year term on the board.
Section 9: In the Womens Bay Service Area, Mike Wilcheck and Dave Conrad were
elected to three -year terms each on the board, having received the
highest write -in vote tallies.
Section 10: In Fire Protection Area No. 1, Jeff Halcomb was elected to a three -year
term on the board, having received the highest write -in vote tally.
