A RESOLUTION URGING GOVERNOR KNOWLES TO APPOINT
TWO MEMBERS OF THE KODIAK BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO THE
ALASKA AEROSPACE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, the Alaska State Legislature recently adopted House Bill 208 that will
change the structure of the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation (AADC) Board
of Directors; and
WHEREAS, the change of structure includes the addition of three seats for business
people in Alaska to participate on the Board; and
WHEREAS, the primary activities of the AADC regarding the Kodiak Launch Complex
will be occurring on Kodiak Island; and
WHEREAS, there would be a great advantage for local business people to be involved
in AADC's planning activities with regard to the Kodiak Launch Complex; and
WHEREAS, there are a number of very qualified members of the Kodiak business
community who would be very interested in serving on this board; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce has compiled a list of qualified, interested
candidates from which the Governor could choose membership;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that Governor Tony Knowles is urged to appoint at least two members of the
Kodiak business community, from the list submitted by the Kodiak Chamber of
Commerce, to the Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation Board of Directors.
