A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE VALUABLE ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE
STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND REGIONAL AFFAIRS
WHEREAS, the valuable assistance provided to the municipalities by the Alaska State
Department of Community and Regional Affairs (DCRA) is recognized; and
WHEREAS, DCRA has always been available to help municipalities in grant writing,
boundary issues, budgeting and financial reporting, and training of elected officials
and clerks; and
WHEREAS, DCRA is a valuable resource tool to all communities, especially those
rural communities that have few other resources readily available;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that the Department of Community and Regional Affairs is recognized and
appreciated for their past and future assistance provided to both large and small
municipalities in the State of Alaska.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK
ISLAND BOROUGH that the governor and legislature of the State of Alaska is urged
to continue level funding for the Department of Community and Regional Affairs.
