AN ORDINANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
AMENDING THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
CODE OF ORDINANCES TITLE 15 BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION
TO PROVIDE FOR THE CHANGE TO A MANAGER PLAN OF GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough will revert to a manager plan of government
on October 19, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the governing body shall enact provisions for the reorganization of the
municipal executive and administrative functions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a
part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: The Kodiak Island Borough Title 15 Bui /dings and Construction of the
Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
15.08.010 Administration and enforcement. The administration and enforcement of this chapter
shall be the duty of the borough building official who is authorized to take such action as may be
reasonably necessary to enforce the purposes of this code. The []manager may appoint or
authorize an assistant or agent to the building official if necessary to carry out the provisions of
this code.

15.32.060 Duties of the [mayer]manager. It is the duty of the [ffrayeflmanager, or designee,
to establish and assign all building numbers on the public streets within the borough. He shall
prepare the necessary records of the numbers so assigned by him, and such records shall be
evidence of all building numbers so assigned. He shall, on demand, furnish to each owner or
occupant of a building, or such person as may be employed in numbering the buildings, with all
necessary information relevant to the number belonging to each building.
15.36.010 Composition.
B. The borough [mayer]manager, or designee, shall be an ex officio member of the board.
15.40.010 Enforcement authority.
C. Stop order -- violation, revocation. It is unlawful to do or perform any work in violation
of such stop order, except as may be necessary to prevent injury or damage to persons or
property. Such stop order may be revoked by the building official, borough engineer, borough
[mayor]manager, or borough assembly.
Section 3: Effective date. Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance shall become effective
to be in full force and effect at midnight on October 18, 1998.
