AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
AMENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES TITLE 9 PUBLIC
PEACE, MORALS AND WELFARE TO PROVIDE FOR THE CHANGE
TO A MANAGER PLAN OF GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough will revert to a manager plan of government
on October 19, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the governing body shall enact provisions for the reorganization of the
municipal executive and administrative functions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a
part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: Title 9 Public Peace, Morals and We /fare of the Kodiak Island Borough
Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
TITLE 9
PUBLIC PEACE, MORALS AND WELFARE
9.20.010 Authority. The [meyor]manager may in writing designate one (1) or more
employees of the borough as peace officers with the authority to issue citations,
conduct investigations of violations of and enforce the borough code, ordinances and
regulations, and to take other action consistent with the exercise of these enumerated
powers when necessary to enforce the borough code, ordinances and regulations and
maintain the public peace.
Section 3: Effective date. Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance shall become effective
to be in full force and effect at midnight on October 18, 1998.
