AN ORDINANCE AMENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE ORDINANCES
CHAPTER 2.19 FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TO PROV ' E FOR A
PLAN FOR A DELINQUENT ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly previous enacted Ordinance No.
94 -06, codified at Kodiak Island Borough Code Chapter 2. 9, requiring the removal of
an elective or appointive official when the official h a delinquent property tax
account, a delinquent utility account, or a delinquent and sales account; and
WHEREAS, the Assembly desires to amend t - ordinance to redefine the term
"delinquent" as it relates to property tax acco ts, utility accounts, and land sales
accounts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY HE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a g neral and permanent nature and shall become a
part of the Kodiak Isl. d Borough Code of Ordinances.
Section 2: Section 2.19.030 D efinitions in Chapter 2.19 Financial Responsibility in
Title 2 Adminis ation and Personnel of the Kodiak Island Borough Code
of Ordinance is hereby amended to provide as follows:
2.19.030 Definitions.
A. "Official." Thi chapter applies to members of the assembly, the service area boards of
supervisors, the boar of equalization, the planning and zoning commission, and all appointed
boards and commis • ons of the borough. This chapter does not apply to the office of mayor or
to school board -mbers.
B. "Delin..ent account." A[n] property tax account, utility account, or land sales account
is delinquen ithin the meaning of this chapter if [it is duc and rcmains unpaid for morc than
fo r.
n ce department notifies the official that the account is due and has been unpai d
