1994-13 Amending Chapter 4.15 Service Area Board of SupervisorsAN ORDINANCE MENDING KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPT 4.15 SERVICE AREA BOARDS OF SUPERVISORS SEC N 4.15.20 COMPOSITION, APPOINTMENT, ELECTION QUALIFICATIONS WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Kodiak Island Borough that the mayor and members of the assembly not simultaneously hold office as a member of a service district board of supervisors; and WHEREAS, the purpose to the provision of preventing multiple position holding of public office is that public would not accumulate in a single person; and WHEREAS, to ensure that public office holders discharge their duties with undivided loyalty; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE A EMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT: Section 1: This ordinance applies to all current serve area board members as of the effective date of this ordinance. Section 2: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nMure and shall become a part of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances. Section 3: Kodiak Island Borough Code Chapter 4.15 Servic Area Boards of Supervisors Section 4.15.20 Composition, Appoi ment, Election Qualifications is amended as follows: 4.15.020 Composition, appointment, election qualifications. A board of shall consist of three members, or more, as the assembly may dete pe ne by ordinance. The initial members of the board shall be appointed by the asse bly to serve until the expiration of their terms as set forth in section 4.15.030. Ther fter, members of the board of supervisors shall be elected by the qualified voters withi he Kodiak bland Borough.
