1990-46 Increasing the Membership of the Hospital and Health Facility Advisory BoardKODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NO. 90 -46 Introduced by: KIB Assembly Date: 12/06/90 Public Hearing: 12/20/90 Adopted: 12/20/90 AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE HOSPITAL AND HEALTH FACILITY ADVISORY BOARD WHEREAS, the Hospital and Health Facility Advisory Board has some major critical issues facing them in the next few years; and WHEREAS, the Hospital and Health Facility Advisory Board has assigned themselves to smaller committees, which creates additional study and preparation time; and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly feels that enlarging the membership of the Board will allow for increased public input and awareness of the Board's functions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that: Section 1. This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a part of the Code of Ordinances. Section 2. Section 8.04.010, Created -- Membership, is amended to read: 8.04.010 Created -- Membership. There is created a hospital and health facility advisory board which shall consist of nine [SEVEN] borough residents, of which seven are appointed in accordance with Section 2.39.030. [THE MAYOR SHALL APPOINT FIVE MEMBERS SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION BY THE ASSEMBLY.] In addition, the hospital chief -of -staff and one assembly representative shall also be full voting members of the board. The chief -of -staff shall be selected by the medical staff and the borough assembly OrdInanee No. 90 -46 Page 1 of 2 representative shall be selected by the assembly. The hospital manager shall serve as a non - voting [AN] ex officio member of the board and the mayor may, with the concurrence of the assembly, appoint additional non - voting ex officio members.
