1987-32 Changing the Delinquency Dates on Utility PaymentsATTEST: Ordinance No. 87 -32-0 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NO. 87 -32 -0 AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CHANGING THE DELINQUENCY DATES ON UTILITY PAYMENTS WHEREAS, other local utilities have a 20th of the month delinquency date; and WHEREAS, the delinquency date for the Kodiak Island Borough utilities is the 15th of the month; and WHEREAS, the subject of "vacancies" needs further clarification: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that: Section 1. This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become a part of the Code of Ordinances of the Kodiak Island Borough. Section 2. KIB 13.01.155 is amended to read: 13.01.155 Charges- -Late payment fees. Bills not paid by the twentieth (20th) (FIFTEENTH) day of the month (or first workday thereafter) shall be subject to a late payment fee. This fee shall be calculated at one percent (1%) per month of the outstanding balance, or a minimum fee to be three dollars per month for each month or portion thereof past due, whichever is greater. Section 3. KIB 13.01.170 is amended to read: 13.01.170 Vacancy. (A.) No reduction of charges will be made on partially vacant or vacant premises for periods of less than one month. (B.) Service may be disconnected for periods of vacancy (OF NOT LESS THAN SIX MONTHS) upon application to the borough cashier and payment of disconnect and reconnect fees as established by Section 13.01.080 B. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon adoption. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 19th DAY OF NOVEMBER , 1987.
