AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SUSPENDING-. _
SECTION 406, STEP INCREASES, AND SECTION 416, LONGEVITY REWARD,
OF THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHEREAS, it is normally the policy of the Kodiak Island -
;Borough to recognize the performance of employees through merit -
increases and annual step increases; and i
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly recognizes the
continued dedication and hardwork of the employees; and /
WHEREAS, the current economic condition with It state of
Alaska and the nation has sharply reduced revenue to the rough; and
WHEREAS, the proposed budget will face triliay ets with a tax
increase of approximately 30%; and
WHEREAS, freezing salaries at the FY67 will prevent
• layoffs; and
WHEREAS, the trend of the construction industry has lowered
wages; and
WHEREAS, the Little Davis Bacon wagef are showing a decrease;
and
WHEREAS, some of the KodiayC1 np Borough School District
employees have taken salary cuts: / 7/
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 0444AINED /by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that:
Section 1. This ordinance /ls of a special nature and shall
not become a part of the Code of Oi nances.
Section 2. Section 406 Step Increases, and Section 416,
Longevity Reward, of the Pgraggn= Rules and Regulations are hereby
suspended until June 30, 1988.
