ORDINANCE NO. 87 -11 -0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY PROVIDING
FOR TWO REGULAR ASSEMBLY MEETINGS PER MONTH
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly is finding it
increasingly difficult to deal with issues with only one regular meeting
per month; and
WHEREAS, having a second meeting each month would allow for
more timely responses to the needs of both citizens and staff:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that:
Section 1. This ordinance is of a general and permanent
nature and shall become a part of the code of the Kodiak Island Borough.
Section 2. Section 2.17.030 is hereby amended as follows:
2.17.030 Types of Meetings. A. Regular Meeting: The assembly
I shall meet in the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly Chambers, in the Kodiak
[Island Borough Administration Building, Kodiak, Alaska, and are to
commence at 7:30 [6:30] p.m., on the first and third Thursday of each
month, or such other time and place as may be designated in the notice
of the meeting. . . .
Section 3. Section 2.17.070 is hereby amended as follows:
2.17.070 Ordinances, Resolution and Motions. A. Ordinances
Deferred; Emergencies. Unless otherwise provided at the time of
introduction, 0(0)rdinances introduced at an assembly meeting shall not
be finally acted upon until at least the meeting following the next
assembly meeting, except that emergency ordinances may be acted on
immediately.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective September 1,
