AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASpe1j AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURE OF BOND FUNDS BY THE FACILITIES DEPARTMENf_TO/CONSTRUCT THE
ADDITIONS TO THE SCHOOLS AT LARSEN BAY, PORT LIONS AND OLD HARBOR.

WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough AssewIj is committed to making
a maximum use of local construction forces and ter local resources, and
WHEREAS, the Facilities Department the Kodiak Island Borough ha
the capability to organize the Design Construction Management teams
required to construct the school additio s Aft Larsen Bay, Port Lions and Old
Harbor.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has apprpiated sums of money
issued bonds to build additions to the schools a Bay, Port Lions
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Kodiak Island Borougk
Assembly that the Facilities Department is authorized, under the direction of
the Mayor to proceed with the desiin and construction of the aforementioned
school additions making such p ass of services, materials, equipment and
hiring such labor as is required td complete said construction and,
listed below are estimate d/`tff be expended in the following manner:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT, labor be hired first from the labor
pool of the village where the construction is taking place and then of thej
Borough of Kodiak, when qualified personnel are available, before other labod
E IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT, material supplies and equipment bet
purchasgd locally when it is available and is competitively priced.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED THAT, the mayor is authorized to make the
purchases required to complete the work described herein, after secuing as
least two quotations for each purchase, without further approval / i
Borough Assembly all other codes and ordinances notwithstandi / for the
purposes of this project only.
