KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE SECTION 13.01.150 PERTAINING TO UTILITIES.
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Code Section 13.01.150 specifies that water
and sewer service is deemed to be provided on the date of connection, and
WHEREAS, it may be necessary to initiate legal action to force connection
in certain instances, and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to avoid legal expenses whenever possible, and
WHEREAS, beginning to charge for services when services are available may
encourage timely connection to utility services, and
WHEREAS, Section 13.01.150 currently sets different criteria for computing
partial -month billings for water services and sewer services;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly:
Section 1. The Code of the Kodiak Island Borough is amended as follows:
Section 13.01.150 Charges— Effective Date. Water and /or sewer
service shall be deemed to be provided with regard to premises
connected directly or indirectly to the system on the date of such
connection, or at the time of the deadline for connection established
by the service district or municipality, as the case may be, whichever
occurs first. Water and sewer service charges shall be for the full month
if connection is made before the fifteenth of the month and shall be
deferred to the following month if connection is made after the
fifteenth of the month.
